Music project: Improvisation in Jazz: Ensemble
AA creative journey through the world of jazz
Idea: Jazz improvisation as a language between cultures
The project “Improvisation in Jazz: Ensemble” offered music lovers, regardless of their background, a unique opportunity to explore the art of jazz improvisation together. Led by experienced musicians from the jazz scene, this project combined theory and practice to create a creative and inspiring learning environment.
Goal: Promote self-development and intercultural skills
The aim of the project was to use music as an instrument for self-development and intercultural understanding. By working on standard pieces and their own arrangements, the participants should not only develop their musical skills, but also promote empowerment and intercultural competence.
Realization: Own pieces and jazz in the ensemble
The 8-part workshop series took place in the salon of the Villa Plagwitz, a creative place for musical exchange and inspiration. Under the direction of Diego Gonzales, an experienced musician from Chile, topics such as improvisation techniques, creative use of instruments and voice and the development of group harmony were covered.
The workshops were multilingual in order to appeal to people from different language backgrounds. The final concert, at which over 50 participants presented the skills they had acquired, was the highlight of the project and demonstrated the power of music as a means of promoting diversity and cultural exchange.
