Theater group:
ANDIWONDER - A transcultural theater project by interaction Leipzig e.V.
Idea: A stage for social contradictions and personal stories
The transcultural theater group ANDIWONDER was a project of interaction Leipzig e.V. that dealt with the topics of identity, social contradictions and personal stories. The group has been meeting since summer 2015 to negotiate and explore the self, the other and the supposedly normal.
Goal: Uncovering bureaucratic challenges in Germany
The aim of the theater production “My own private bureaucracy – you have to take a number” was to critically question bureaucracy and shed light on its impact on individual lives. The production examined the significance of bureaucracy in everyday life and invited the audience to engage with the challenges and absurdities of the bureaucratic system.
Realization: Absurd, weird, real – “My own private bureaucracy”
Under the dramaturgy of Laura Kröner and the direction of Anna Melissa Zentgraf, the theater group worked collectively to explore the themes and content of the production. The play presented absurd scenes in which the actors dealt with despair, failure and resistance to bureaucracy. The production was staged by a diverse ensemble under the direction of Ahmed Alsaadi and supported by the Leipzig Cultural Office.
