Idea

Der Raum für Dich is a project by interaction Leipzig, a non-profit association that supports the integration of refugees in Leipzig. Since March 2022, the association, in cooperation with the Galerie für zeitgenössische Kunst (GfZK), has been opening its workshop space with terrace and garden access to people with refugee experience. The Raum für Dich is a place where you feel welcome, where you can exchange ideas with others and develop your creativity.

Goal

The aim of the project is to offer refugees a space in which they can develop in a self-determined way. The Raum für Dich should be a place of diversity and inspiration where you can get to know people from different cultures and backgrounds. The Room for You is also designed to help you improve your German language skills, clarify your questions and needs and find support.

Implementation

The room for you is open every Tuesday from 3.30 to 5.30 pm. Creative activities await you every Tuesday, such as gouache painting, upcycling workshops, improv theater, yoga, German training and much more. The offers are free of charge and open to all interested parties. You can come along and join in at any time. You don’t need to register or have any previous knowledge. You can also contribute your own ideas and suggestions. The space for you is your space!

As a special feature, as a refugee you can also visit the GfZK exhibitions free of charge. The GfZK is a renowned gallery for contemporary art that shows exciting and innovative works of art from all over the world. The exhibitions are a great opportunity to gain new perspectives and inspiration.
